Guest Services Volunteer

The primary responsibility of a guest services volunteer is to assist in providing a "home-away-from-home" for families of ill children. Our volunteers do a little bit of everything, including checking-in families, baking desserts, restocking rooms, light housekeeping, answering phones, assisting with mailing, data entry, and more.

Generally our volunteers commit to at least one three hour shift each week at one of our three locations. In Rogers and Fort Smith, the Family Rooms are operated with volunteers and staff 7 am - 10 pm daily. The House in Fayetteville operates 24 hours a day with staff and volunteers.

Share-A-Meal

Calling all chefs and wanna-be-chefs! Get your favorite recipes together and join the Share-A-Meal program. At our programs, families appreciate you taking your time and resources to provide a warm meal after their long day at the hospital. With the many worries that come with having a sick or injured child, dinner should not be one of them. You can help our families by cooking a meal, so they can focus on what is really important: their child.

Dinner is served every night at 6:30pm.

Host an Activity Hour

Are you crafty? Do you enjoy hosting game nights?

Think of the activities you, your family, and friends like to do together and come share your fun with our families. Organizing a night of karaoke, bingo, cupcake decorating, or special craft nights can help keep our families’ minds busy and bring some fun into the Family Room and House.

Share your Talents

Do you have love to entertain? Do you have a special talent?

Everyone has something special to offer and RMHC of Arkoma welcomes YOU! Hairstylists, massage therapists, photographers, yoga instructors, and any other talent we missed has a chance to brighten someone’s day by simply donating their time. Our families LOVE participating in new opportunities.  We welcome all new ideas!

Wish List

We are incredibly grateful for our friends in the community who help provide families with daily necessities so we can make their stay more comfortable.

We are always seeking travels sized toiletries, snack food items, office supplies, stamps, and cleaning products. Please check our Facebook page, as additional needs are updated regularly.
